ASUS UL series name comes from the word “unlimited” and is an answer to Acer’s Timeline laptops, a line of products that relies of very good battery life (up to 8 hours) to advertise itself. The ASUS UL series does the same by using Ultra Low Voltage Intel CPUs but brings to the table nicer design and a very ergonomic keyboard. The ASUS UL30-A uses a 1.3GHz Intel SU7300 Core 2 Duo Processor, 4 GB RAM, a 500 GB HDD, all into a 13.3 inch case (720p screen resolution).
The operating system is the newly launched Windows 7 Home Premium. From ASUS comes SuperHybrid engine, a technology that offers special profiles for performance so that you get either performance or battery life, depending on the your applications usage pattern. Estimated battery life for the ASUS UL30-A is 12 hours, so enough for a full day of work plus some entertainment for yourself.
