Save: $0
The iPad 2, the second generation of Apple’s extremely successful tablet computer, is currently by far the most popular and praised upon slate. Despite a not very affordable price, everyone either has an iPad 2 or wants to have one, the gadget’s level of performance and features being breathtaking.
The 10-inch tablet breaths quality and reliability and you can’t help feel mesmerized by what this gadget can do. With a 1 GHz dual-core Apple A5 chipset and 512 MB of RAM, the iPad 2 is the ultimate multimedia gadget, being able to run loads of video games at a very high detail level.
The 9.7-inch IPS display with 1024 x 768 pixels resolution is top of the notch right now, offering excellent viewing angles, crisp and clear colors and brilliant contrast. The iOS 4, running on the iPad 2, is advertised as ‘’the world’s most advanced mobile operating system’’ by Apple and, believe it or not, this is actually not a marketing gimmick.
The interface is very nice, simple and intuitive, you get loads of exciting features and also access to a bunch of specially created apps, which look great and are extremely functional as well. In terms of battery life, the iPad 2 is again by far the best tablet on the market, being able to run for well over ten hours between charges, based on medium use.
And while you might think you will be forced to sacrifice in terms of design and portability due to all the impressive features that are powered by the iPad 2, the tablet is actually incredibly slim and light as well. It is only 0.34 inches thick, 7.31 inches wide and 9.5 inches high and weighs in at just 1.33 pounds.
The iPad 2 comes with a bunch of connectivity options, including wireless, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G, but also with dual cameras (0.7 MPx rear-facing and 0.3 MPx front-facing).
In terms of pricing, as you might expect, this kind of quality doesn’t come cheap. However, you can’t say that it is expensive either, considering that you can get the lower end version of Apple’s best-seller at only 500 bucks. Of course, there is also the 64 GB 3G version of the tablet available for over 875 dollars, but all in all the quality-price ratio is more than fair.
