Save: $0
The 10-inch tablet market is extremely competitive nowadays and it is pretty difficult to establish any kind of rankings and to state beyond any doubt which device is the best right now. However, when you look at the Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1’s technical specifications, design and quality-price ratio, you can’t help but notice that this is a great overall gadget.
Starting at only 499.99 dollars, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is currently the lightest and thinnest 10-inch slate on the market. Weighing only 1.25 pounds and measuring 0.34 inches in depth, the Tab 10.1 is highly portable and extremely fashionable.
The plastic rubbery back side is not great in terms of build quality, but the metallic edges give the overall design a touch of elegance and finesse. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 also packs some great hardware under the hood, being powered by a strong and snappy dual-core Tegra 2 processor with 1 GB of RAM. This should translate into a very high level of performance, no matter if you like playing video games on your tablet, surf the web or play HD videos.
The 10-incher sports a beautiful HD widescreen display that impresses in terms of clarity, contrast, brightness and colors, offering a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. The cameras are also pretty good, the 3 MPx rear-facing shooter and the 2 MPx front-facing one being capable of recording decent videos and taking nice pics.
In terms of software and apps, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is also great, having an important edge from other Android-powered tablets. Samsung’s slate, while running Android Honeycomb 3.1, comes with the original TouchWiz UX and a bunch of apps you will not find on other similar devices nowadays.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 offers endurance as well as power and good looks, coming with a battery that should be able to run up to ten hours between charges. You also get plenty of internal space, the tablet being available in 16 and 32 GB models.
As we already mentioned, Samsung’s high-end tablet offers a very good quality-price ratio, being available for $499.99 (the 16 GB version) or for 599 dollars (the 32 GB model). This is actually a tad more than you will pay for some of the other 10-inch slates on the market, but it is a fair price if you take a close look at what this gadget looks and can do.
