Save: $35
As we mentioned before when talking about different tablets, one of the most important aspects in judging these kinds of gadgets today is the originality. There are so many slates nowadays that are identical both in terms of design and technical specs and therefore the only shot you have at selling something is to make something different.
The Sony Tablet S is not the strongest slate right now, but it can’t be ignored either, coming with a few nice innovative touches. First of all, Sony’s new gadget will surely make an impression in terms of design, coming with an asymmetrical, but practical body.
Measuring only 0.3 inches in depth at its narrowest point, the Tablet S provides by far the best grip among slates nowadays, feeling great in your hand. It is also ultraportable, weighing in at only 21 ounces.
While its ergonomics is surely one of the things that will attract customers for sure, it has to be said that this tablet is extremely fashionable as well. Slim, but well-built, with straightforward lines and a couple of nicely rounded edges, the S will prove to be the perfect travel companion for everybody.
Sporting an unusual 9.4-inch LED-backlit multi-touch screen with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, the Sony Tablet S is not only elegant and good-looking, but also strong. The 1 GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and the 1 GB of RAM make for a very snappy hardware configuration, capable of running all the video games and apps you enjoy.
Speaking of apps, Sony’s latest gadget runs Android Honeycomb 3.1 and provides access to Android Market. You also have a bunch of software tweaks and unique features, as it is the case of the ‘’PlayStation certified’’ and the ‘’Sony Entertainment Pack’’.
Other features include a 5 MPx rear-facing camera, an 0.3 MPx VGA webcam, Wireless, Bluetooth 2.1, IR remote control functionality, as well as a micro USB port and a full-size SD memory card slot. In terms of storage space, the Tablet S comes with 16 or 32 GB of internal memory, while when it comes to battery life, you should expect an autonomy of around eight hours, based on medium use.
The Tablet S is therefore pretty innovative, coming with a bunch of standard features, but with a couple of original ones as well. In terms of pricing, things are decent, if you ask us, with Sony’s gadget going for 464.89 dollars (the 16 GB model) or 591.58 bucks (the 32 GB version).
